Bucs

Bucs looked good today, beating San Fran in 10 innings to complete the sweep.  That's five in a row.  They've won 4 of 5 series since the All-Star break.  Good stuff.

Still though, it's football season now, so...what's the point...

All aboard

Well, they're all signed...every draft pick.  Santonio was the last one, putting ink to paper yesterday on a 5 year contract worth 8.11 million.  Damn pleased to see him in camp on time.  Can't wait to check him out next Friday.

Van Slyke on Latinos

Our old friend Andy Van Slyke's back in the news.  Apparently, he's the first base coach for the Detroit Tigers.  Who knew?  Not me.

Yesterday, he had this to say about Ozzie Guillen and Latinos: "“(Guillen’s) a guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve.  He is, if you want to call it, an atypical Latin baseball player.  I don’t believe that it’s true for all Latinos, but a lot of people’s perception is that Latinos are hot-headed.  He has certainly shown that he gets a little upset and a little excited and the littlest, silliest things."

Nice Andy, real nice.  Not the worst thing I ever heard, but still...can't be making generalizations like that these days.

Good feelings

Good win.  Nice to see the guys are having fun, really.  But how about a product the fans could enjoy too?  Wouldn't that be something...

Apparently those crazy Canadians love us.  Nothing bugs me more than a bunch of bandwagon fans.

Rookie signings

It looks like the rookie signings are finally starting to happen.  Always good to see.  It also sounds like they may be getting close to a deal with Ike, which would be the best news of the offseason.  If they could lock him up for 3 years or so I'd be ecstatic. 

Plus, Rooney made it pretty clear Santonio needs to get his act together.
